Be Proud of Your Gay Child.

For my sake, please don't shun your gay son or daughter. Adore them, not abhor. Don't be ashamed to say "Oh yeah, my kid's gay", please be proud, I beg  you please.

My parents have yet to come to terms with their gay child, which would be me of course. What can I say, they are a bit homophobic. So it was hard to come out to them, to tell them that I was gay. Gay teens and adults need acceptance, not hate. Understand us, you don't have to believe it is right, just be okay with our existence. I will be gay after most of the older conservatives die. Long after. But without acceptance, equal rights, and the freedom to walk down the street with my (ex) girlfriend and not be insulted this world will never change. I want change. I want a president for equal rights in office. But will that happen? Who knows. All I can say is I am proud of my straight parents, and they are finally proud of their gay daughter.
